Shepherd's Pipe Carol                                                                    View         2:45                Med.                    US$40.00        Purchase
John Rutter - arranged by Paul Noble

The performance is by the Indiana University Wind Ensemble, Professor Stephen W. Pratt, Conductor and Chair, Department of Bands. See their website at: http://music.indiana.edu/departments/ensembles/wind-ensemble.shtml  .

Anyone who listens to the radio or attends a concert during the holiday season will certainly hear the "Shepherd's Pipe Carol". It has become one of John Rutter's most popular carols. This arrangement is written and intended for combined Wind Band and Chorus. However, it is also arranged so that it is complete with Wind Band alone.

The choral part is shown in the conductor's score, but is not a part of the download. The arrangement is compatible with the published vocal score X167, ISBN 9780193429680, available to buy from Oxford University Press or the Press’s international sales agent(s).

The scoring is done with some cue size notations that should be played if performing without the chorus. This will make a delightful addition to any Christmas or seasonal concert.

arr. by Stuart Nicholson
orchestrated by John Rutter
arranged for Concert Band by Paul Noble
Since first hearing John Rutter's orchestration of Stuart Nicholson's adaptation of this piece, I have wanted to bring it to the repertoire of the Concert/Wind Band.  It is written for combined Concert Band and Chorus, but may be performed by Band alone.  The choral part is shown in the conductor's score, but is not a part of the download.  The arrangement is compatible with the published SATB choral version No. 14041396 by Novello, and may be purchased from Hal Leonard Corp. or through www.musicdispatch.com.

This is the "happiest" and most joyful presentation of the 16th-century French carol that will delight your audience and band alike!

John Rutter - arranged by Paul Noble
For many years, the annual Christmas concert given by The Bach Choir in London's Royal Albert Hall has been a seasonal highlight, not least because for a part of the concert the children of the audience are invited to join the choir onstage to sing carols.  In1971 David Willcocks, as conductor of The Bach Choir, asked John Rutter to write a new carol with a refrain simple enough to be taught to the children onstage and immediately performed by them, together with the adults.  "Star Carol" was the response.  This arrangement is offered with the choral part shown in the score, but not as part of the download. The arrangement is compatible with the published SATB choral version, the ISBN is 9780193430341 and the serial number is X233, available to buy from Oxford University Press or the Press’s international sales agent(s).

This will make a delightful addition to any Christmas or seasonal concert.

Rejoice and sing!                                                      Listen                    View       4:00                Med.                  US$60.00     Purchase
"Rejoice and sing!" was written in celebration of the 95th birthday of Sir David Willcocks. John Rutter writes: "I was delighted to be asked by OUP to compose a new carol in his honour. Writing 'Rejoice and sing!' I recalled the many happy Christmas concerts he conducted with the Bach Choir in London's Royal Albert Hall, thinking also of his fondness for quirky rhythms - - hence the lopsided 7/8 which runs through much of the music." This arrangement is written for combined Concert Band and Chorus, but may be performed by band alone. It is compatible with the original version except that it is transposed down by one-half step (semi-tone).
